Tannin is a cosy wine bar on a quiet Old Quarter backstreet, with a second branch at 7 Kim Ma Thuong. It has a cellar of more than 500 bottles across Old and New World regions and vintages.
Glasses start from about 200,000 VND, and a daily 4–7pm happy hour brings wine down from about 100,000 VND. Beer and cocktails are also available.
At the Hang Vai branch food is limited to charcuterie, cold cuts and build-your-own cheese boards, which makes it a good stop for a relaxed glass with friends.
Small bars fill up fast on Friday and Saturday nights. Book ahead where you can.
