Samé is an upscale bistro on Le Thanh Tong, with a small dining room and a balcony. Chef Hiếu Hà, founder of Déglacer, cooks Mediterranean and French bistro dishes with Vietnamese or Japanese touches, such as grilled octopus with ajo blanco and Galician presa.
The wine list, led by sommelier Lincoln Vũ, is one of the more ambitious in the city, with unusual by-the-glass choices such as a Koshu from Yamanashi. Regular wine-and-food events are held.
It suits a special dinner where the wine is part of the point.
Small bars fill up fast on Friday and Saturday nights. Book ahead where you can.
