Verlan is the modern French restaurant of chef Napol 'Joe' Jantraget, formerly of 80/20 and Samlor. Time Out calls it probably more restaurant than wine bar, but the wine is a big part of the appeal.
The list is 100% French, with a focus on grower Champagnes and reds from the Jura. The beef tartare is the dish people talk about.
It suits a proper dinner where the wine matters, and opens for weekend lunch as well.
Small bars fill up fast on Friday and Saturday nights. Book ahead where you can.
