Swirl

Swirl calls itself a 'cellar and wine bar', and the cellar comes first: it is the shop and tasting room of importer Riesling & Co, with more than 1,000 labels from small regional producers. The list is organised by region and then by producer rather than by colour, with particular strength in German Riesling, Beaujolais and the Rhône alongside French and Italian growers.

The kitchen serves French- and Japanese-inspired small plates, salads, pasta, donburi, cheese and cold cuts, cooked fresh daily. Bottles from the shelves can be bought to take away.

The room on the ground floor of Civic Park is calm and bottle-lined, better for a focused wine evening or a date than a big night out. Booking is through the venue's LINE account.
