Praelum is a sommelier-run wine bistro in a Duxton Hill shophouse, with walls of bottles and a walk-in cellar holding roughly 1,000 bottles. The list changes often and the team treats the room partly as a wine school, offering flights, tasting pours and themed events such as country-focused wine weeks and masterclasses.
The kitchen cooks European dishes such as tarte flambée to go with the wines. A generous corkage policy lets you bring one bottle of your own for every bottle bought from the list.
It suits curious drinkers who want guidance from a sommelier, and groups looking for a cosy, wine-first dinner in Tanjong Pagar.
