Gentle Giants is a small, candlelit natural wine bar and bottle shop that built a following in the Zhongshan Building on Jalan Rotan before moving to 34 Jalan Tun H S Lee in the city centre. The selection of natural and cult low-intervention wines changes constantly, with producers such as Brand Bros, François and Lammidia on the shelves, and the owners are hands-on with recommendations.

There is no kitchen beyond light bites and occasional takeovers, and guests have been welcome to bring their own food.

It suits natural wine enthusiasts and anyone after an intimate, unhurried glass.

Small bars fill up fast on Friday and Saturday nights. Book ahead where you can.
