The Causeway Bay outpost of CORKS sits on Lan Fong Road and is bigger than the original Sheung Wan bar. The focus is the same: French wines, mostly from independent and family-owned producers, poured in a casual setting with bottles lining the walls.
Food is wine-bar fare such as cheese, cured ham, cold cuts and escargots, and the bar has run a Wednesday oyster night. A glass cabinet collects the corks from bottles opened, with the founders pledging a charity donation per cork once it is full.
It suits shoppers and locals looking for an easy glass of French wine away from the Causeway Bay crowds.
Small bars fill up fast on Friday and Saturday nights. Book ahead where you can.
